CAN YOU SPONSOR A CHILD FOR THE 2012 SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE?

All students are sponsored (YEA!) - still some gift cards needed (see below).

Below are the grades and gender for the children in the families we are helping (as of now!). New this year – to streamline the process and make our volunteers’ works significantly easier, we are ...

  1. running the drive for 2 weeks instead of three
  2. using $15 gift cards to Target/Kmart/Staples to allow families to supplement the Generic Supply List.

Also new, we are adding a few college students to the "needs" list.  (T&E Care supports some students in college anyway and it's great when we can help supplement their basic needs now and then! )

See below for the Generic School Supply Lists.  Remember, please buy ONLY what is on the Generic School Supply Lists for each student. We are using the bulk list to provide the other items required for students by the schools.  Included on the bulk list are $15 gift cards (Kmart, Target and Staples) which families can use to buy items they need that aren’t on the Generic School Supply Lists.

For anyone interested in providing additional assistance - gift cards for food and clothing stores are appreciated.

If you want to sponsor a child or make a donation, or if you have any questions,  - please email schoolsupply@tecare.org.
We will confirm details with you before you go shopping.

If you are sponsoring a student, PLEASE use the T&E Care Generic School Supply Lists (below) for that student.  This is NOT the same exact list that you might get from each school's website or newsletter.  Because each school and each grade do things slightly differently, T&E Care has put together a Generic School Supply List of commonly needed items and will combine that with our bulk list and gift card donations.  If you'd like to download the generic list to take to the store - CLICK HERE for a PDF version. IF YOU'D RATHER JUST GET BULK ITEMS

If you are the type of shopper that just wants to worry about one or two types of items - then the Bulk List is for you!  You can offer to buy all of an item from this list, just a few, or anything inbetween.  Each of the items listed below are more specific to certain schools and certain grades - so on sorting day T&E Care volunteers will figure out which students need these and add them to the bags.  Back packs are on this list as every child does not need a back pack.   NOTE:  backpacks should NOT have offensive decorations (ie - skulls) or decorations that are too taste specific (ie:  Justin Beiber).

If you want to make a bulk donation, or if you have any questions,  - please email schoolsupply@tecare.org.  We will confirm details with you before you go shopping.

HATE TO SHOP?  GIFT CARDS ARE HELPFUL TOO!
Don't forget that we'll also take gift cards to general local stores so we can offer families the chance to get some clothes for their kids to start the year, or so the kids can go to school having eaten a good breakfast.  These should be mailed (along with the Donation Check List) to T&E Care, attn: Debbie Weger, 540 Contention Lane, Berwyn, PA 19312.

If you plan to send in gift cards, or if you have any questions,  - please email schoolsupply@tecare.org.  It's just helpful for us to know what to plan for.

REMEMBER:  We need all items prior to our sorting day on Aug. 2.

NOTE for donations related to special events:  At times the response of our community is greater than the particular need for which we are soliciting.  In these cases, any donations collected in excess of that need will go into general T & E Care funds to be used for other means of assistance to local families.  Rest assured it will not go to waste (nor will it be used for any salaries or similar administrative expenses - because we have only volunteers!)
