ITEMS REQUESTED FOR FIRE VICTIMS
|
Most of the families affected by the fire had renter's insurance and do not need specific items of help. But some families did not. Area churches are working to get certain items for families - but some needs are harder to find than others. Below are the items we know are currently needed. If you have any of these to share - please let us know as soon as possible. Please check back regularly as this list will be updated frequently.
A small vanity or dressing table for a bedroom (no wider than 48")
A bureau or dresser for a bedroom (no wider than 48")
a TV stand for a 20" TV (stand no wider than 19-25")
new bath towels (all sizes) and some kitchen towels would be helpful as well.

FIRE FAMILY BASKETSAs a gesture of support to all the 17 families that were affected by the fire and stayed in the area (2 of the 19 moved out of the area), we would like to put together "Welcome Home" baskets. Even for families with insurance and only smoke damage we know that their lives were turned upside down with this event, and we'd like them to know that the community cares. A few groups are helping to gather items for the baskets. If you would like to help as well, let us know.We want to have 17 baskets - they do not need to be identical - but should be similar. We will include gift cards to help with shopping for replacements in all of the baskets, and assorted other basic items. Things like: basic tools, desk supplies, bathroom supplies, cleaning supplies, medical supplies, kitchen supplies, etc. etc. We will also include some basic staples of food such as spices, olive oil, flour, etc. We hope to have these baskets delivered during the week of Feb. 22 - so please let us know soon if you can help. The following groups are helping so far:
- Conestoga Boys and Girls Basketball Teams are collecting food
- Hillside Father/Daughter event is collecting basic tools
Many thanks to all for their support!
